Unusual Greetings

President Bush knows
How about an important greeting from your Texas pal, George W? If a special recipient is celebrating an 80th birthday or beyond, they can receive a birthday card from the White House, personally signed by the President. Just drop a line to:

The Greetings Office
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, D.C. 20500

Please send your request four weeks in advance, if possible. The only down side is that the cards are sent directly to the honorees instead of a third party, so you probably won't get to see their face when they open it. But they will be propagating for months, no matter what their political affiliation.

Derek sends his best?
Imagine handing your friend a birthday card signed by their favorite sports celebrity. Sound impossible? Try this. Pick out a card, put it (and a nice, short note) in a prepaid shipping envelope addressed back to you. Put that envelope in another envelope addressed to the jock, sent in care of said jock's team. Give it a few weeks. Odds are you'll get the card back signed. It's worth gambling a few bucks for your pal.
